1st Alford Brigade Band was awarded Best percussion and were runners up in their class. It is usual for bands to stay in a class for 3 to 4 years before moving to the next class up. We have a serious chance of winning next year and being promoted to the Contest Class, the next and final Class is the Championship Class.

The Band was awarded a £5028 grant from the Lincolnshire Community Grant Scheme and donations from a number of sources in Alford for which the band would like to say a big thank you. This has made it possible to purchase and replace all of our equipment and enabled us to perform at the higher level in the competition.

Percussion:
   Side Drum : Elizabeth Ainsworth and Christopher Pratt
   Base Drum : Peter Rothery
   Cymbals : Lucy Titterton.
Tuned Percussion:
   Laura Brewster and Leah Dixon
Brass:
   Adele Steadman, Josh Wilkinson, Daniel Steadman, Danielle Frame, George Foxwell,
   Bradley Elliott, Sophie Titterton, Emily Abbott, Michael Rothery, Bradley McGilloway.

The Brigades Band is a wonderful success story and they continue to go from strength to strength. To progress further they need the help of some musicians.

They need somebody with who can play the xylophone (tuned percussion) or who can play the piano to help on a Monday night, weekly or fortnightly basis for 1hr 30 mins.
They also need somebody with experience in playing a tenor / base brass instrument. e.g. Euphonium or trombone. Is there anyone out there who can help or do you know of anyone?
