Monday House Group (Evenings)

The Monday evening house group meets at The house of John and Jean Charlton, 26 East Street, Alford 7.30pm to 9pm on Mondays.

The Group is led by John, and its purpose is to give the group the opportunity to deepen their faith via discussing readings from the Bible and prayer. There is also an opportunity to sing worship songs and hymns. The hospitality offered by the Charltons cannot be bettered and they put on excellent refreshments.

The "Moot Group"

The "Moot Group" is a Bible Discussion group that meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month to explore various aspects of Christian life as expressed in the Bible.

The group is hosted by Bob and Hilary Barrett at 14 East street. Sessions start at 7.30pm and last for no more than a couple of hours.

Each session will look at a specific topic, take a relevant text and consider a number of questions arising from it. The evenings are planned to be fairly informal, using lively and free-flowing debate, to deepen our understanding of the Bible and how we can apply it in our everyday lives. Hence the name - "Moot" meaning to discuss and debate.

The group is open to anyone who lives or worships in the Alford area. If you would like to come, please ring 462135.

Thursday House Group (daytime group with crèche)

The Thursdau daytime group meets at the house of Karen Gooding, St. Hildegard, 71, South Street, Alford. Alternate Thursdays 10.30am in preparation for coffee at 11am., finishing around 2.30pm, with a soup and bread break around lunchtime.

Karen leads the prayers and discussions on bible readings, giving you an opportunity to deepen your faith. All are welcome and it has a special attraction to parents because of the crèche. Young carers find this group offers a special space for peace and reflection.
