Beesby Church Restoration Fund received a boost on St Patrick’s Day, March 17th, when Pearl White organised her family and friends to produce a Hot Supper.

It was an excellent meal, beef in Guinness with mashed potato and leprechaun peas and carrots, followed by either Baileys cheesecake or lemon sponge & custard, with coffee and mints to follow. Our compliments to the chef and her team, the cuisine was superb.

Then we were treated to entertainment from the Somercotes Group of Singers, a multi-talented group of ladies whose notable singing talents are equally matched by their sense of fun, expressed in costumes to reflect their songs. "Old MacDonald had a Farm" has never been more entertaining and the Hula-Hula dancer deserved a medal, she was superb.

The raffle was drawn to round off the evening in style - and prizes went to almost every table.
