Scam Alert

On several occasions recently, people working in local churches have been approached by a man who tells a very believable story about needing money to get to a family member’s funeral. He names a churchwarden or a member of the local clergy who, he says, he knows well and who would willingly lend him the money – except that he can’t contact that person and his need is very urgent.

Money has been given to the man (as I said, his story is very believable, he has done his homework and he knows the local names to use).

THIS IS A SCAM  -  A CON TRICK.
